Am I allowed to have a tree planted in the parkway in front of my property; and if so, what steps do I have to follow to do so?
Yes. The Village maintains and owns all parkway trees in the community. A parkway tree is the tree located in front of your residence, typically between the sidewalk and the street.

Parkway trees that need to be replaced are prioritized based on the overall impact in each subdivision (# trees removed per mile) and are subject to available funding. The Village will replace these trees over a period of several years at no cost to residents. If you would like to request an expedited replacement at your cost, please contact the Public Works Department for information and options.

Note that not all parkway locations are recommended for tree planting due to specific site conditions such as overhead power lines, proximity to driveways, or the narrowness of the parkway.Click here for more information.
