How can I dispose of paint and other household hazardous materials?

Algonquin Township offers paint recycling through a third party vendor during their specialized recycling events for a charge paid directly to the vendor. For more information, visit https://algtwsp.com/specialized-recycling

The Road District cannot accept household hazardous waste, pesticides, herbicides, drain cleaners and heavy duty/industrial strength cleaners. Residents who need to recycle those items should go to the following link: https://www2.illinois.gov/epa/topics/waste-management/waste-disposal/household-hazardous-waste/Pages/collections.aspx

However, they accept used motor oil during the Specialized Recycling events. Residents with larger quantities and special circumstances are encouraged to call the Road District and arrange of special drop off.
